UOL, together with our joint-venture partner Kheng Leong Company, garnered the Top Developer award at the EdgeProp Singapore Excellence Awards 2022. Two of our residential projects also received accolades at the awards ceremony held on 21 October 2022 at JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach.
During his acceptance speech of the Top Developer award, Group Chief Executive Liam Wee Sin thanked EdgeProp for bringing together leaders of this industry. He said: “We are humbled and honoured to receive this prestigious award. It is a testimony to the support, hard work, and resilience of the UOL and Kheng Leong teams and all our stakeholders in the industry. I would also like to thank all our customers who have believed and journeyed with us.
“Crisis has a way of bringing people together. As we emerge from the pandemic, we must continue to adopt the spirit of a growth mindset, the spirit of collaboration and to always productively innovate. I hope that we can continue to keep our excitement and enthusiasm to see the light at the end of the tunnel and be poised for industry recovery,” Mr Liam added.
The EdgeProp Singapore Excellence Awards is an annual event that recognises outstanding property developers and distinctive developments that set the benchmark for innovative and pragmatic approaches to deliver value in Singapore’s real estate industry.
In a separate interview with EdgeProp, Mr Liam shared that a developer often plays the curatorial role to empower innovation and good design, deliver leadership in execution and push for collaboration. “We have to seek value and create value across the whole value chain, by tapping the deep domain knowledge and collaborative strength of the entire team, including industry partners such as the consultants and contractors, so as to push the innovative and design boundaries,” he said.
On how UOL continued to create better homes in a challenging and competitive environment, Mr Liam said that the winning formula is to adopt a continuous process of adapting in a volatile and uncertain environment. He added: “We have witnessed people stepping up and making positive impact across our industry. We hope we will not soon forget the lessons and collaborations forged by the pandemic.”
